Among Norman Hidden's papers was the following collection of notes on "Three Acres in Charnham Street":

In the 1565 grant it is "omnia ilia tres acras terre arrabilis quo prefatus Johis Lydesdale pater meus nuper perquis[ivit] de Johanne White de Undewes in parochia de Hungerford in Com. On 6 June 1579 George Hidden quitclaims the lands to John Wrenn and the lands are defined as: "one plot of arable land by estimation 3 acres more or less, situate altogether in a field in the parish of Hungerford, Co. Wilts called the Homefield als Charnham Field and which extends on the east and west to the land called Chantry land, and to the land called Hopgrass land now in the tenure or occupation of Richard Grene on the south and to the land of the Dean of Windsor now in the tenure or occupation of Anthony Harvey and land called Hopgrass land now in the tenure or occupation of the aforesaid Richard Green."
