9th November 1915 – About 3.30pm the enemy commenced shelling Cuinchy Village with heavy shells. 47 HE fell from 3.30 to 4.30pm doing considerable material damage to Cuinchy distillery. Several shells fell at Pont Fixe, killing two men of 'D' Company and wounding three men who were billeted in the village as battalion reserve.
