Hugh Pihlens came to Hungerford in August 1973. After a short one month hand-over with his predecessor Max Wallis, He joined the practice as junior partner with Robert Kennedy.
In addition to developing and expanding the medical practice, he started the Hungerford Historical Association in 1979, wrote several books on the history of Hungerford, and developed a computer system for general practice that became used right across the UK.
He retired from the practice in 2006, and since 2009 has worked hard to develop the Hungerford Virtual Museum.
